After spending two seasons with the Phoenix Suns, where he watched his averages fall to 17.0 points and 3.7 assists per game, former All-Star guard Bradley Beal intends to join a division rival.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Wednesday that Beal has agreed to a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns so that he can sign a two-year, $11 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. Beal’s new contract, which he will sign once he clears waivers, includes a player option to make him one of the top free agents in 2026-27.
Furthermore, the 32-year-old might make for a solid addition to Los Angeles’ roster, which has made the postseason for the past three seasons. He will likely slot into the starting lineup to replace Norman Powell, who was traded to the Miami Heat on July 7 in a three-team deal.
Beal is also the third addition the Clippers' front office has made to their roster this summer. They signed veteran center Brook Lopez in free agency and acquired forward John Collins from the Powell trade.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles roster is composed of All-Stars James Harden and Kawhi Leonard alongside big man Ivica Zubac. Following the signing, fans voiced their opinions on X.
