Dan Meers, the man behind KC Wolf, gets heartwarming sendoff on social media
After 35 years, the man behind the NFL's longest-tenured mascot is retiring. And Dan Meers, aka KC Wolf, got quite the sendoff on social media.

Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear a wolf costume.
Dan Meers, the creative force and man behind the mask of KC Wolf, is retiring after 35 years as the Kansas City Chiefs mascot. That's over 10,000 events, time well spent if you ask Meers:
"I read one time that if you ask a man his occupation, you'll find out how he pays his bills, but if you ask him his preoccupation, then you'll discover the passion of his life," Meers said in an interview.
The news created almost instant buzz on social media and beyond, adding another storyline to sports being in a class of its own, where communities of fans turn a localized tribute into a national tale of a four-wheeling wolf that made Sundays a little brighter, win or lose.
This farewell video posted by the Chiefs on stands out as the paramount chef's kiss on an incredible run for Meers.
