Fever star reveals franchise's motivation in WNBA playoffs vs. Aces
On the latest "Show Me Something" podcast episode, Sophie Cunningham revealed what's been the Fever's biggest motivator entering the WNBA semifinals.

During the latest episode of the "Show Me Something" podcast, co-host and Fever guard Sophie Cunningham revealed what has been the biggest motivator for No. 6 seed Indiana entering its best-of-five WNBA playoffs semifinals series against No. 2 seed Las Vegas.
While the Fever qualified for this year's postseason as the No. 6 seed, most sports media outlets viewed No. 3 seed Atlanta as the overwhelming favorite in the first-round matchup, considering Indiana's five season-ending injuries.
When asked by co-host Wes Wilson about whether she even imagined the team making it this far in the playoffs with all the injuries the Fever have dealt with, Cunningham stated that the league's spite of Indiana's first-round series win over the Dream is what has been fueling the team the most entering their semifinals series against the Aces.
"The league is so mad that we won, because we're literally not supposed to be here at all, and that just kind of fuels our fire even more," Cunningham said.

With the Fever taking on an Aces team that they won the regular-season series against, Indiana certainly knows the recipe for success against Las Vegas despite the Fever's plethora of injuries.
While the Aces entered the semifinals series on a 17-1 run over their past 18 games, the underdog mentality has been enhanced even more by many writing off the Fever as a "Cinderella" team.
Game 1 between Indiana and Las Vegas is scheduled for Sept. 21, from Michelob ULTRA Arena at 2 p.m. CT in Las Vegas, Nev. It will air on ABC.
