As transfer portal season continues to roll on, USC players who have entered the portal are beginning to find new homes. One of the first such players to do so was former USC cornerback Kevin Longstreet, who committed to New Mexico on Thursday.

However, Longstreet is not the only USC departee to find a new home. On Wednesday, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported that defensive lineman Devan Thompkins, who spent the past four years with the Trojans, committed to Alabama.

After seeing limited action in his first two years on campus, Thompkins has emerged as a key player on USC's defensive line over the past two seasons. He finished the 2025 regular season with 31 total tackles, three sacks, two passes defended, and a forced fumble.

Thompkins was expected to again play a major role for the Trojans as a redshirt senior in 2026. Instead, however, he decided to enter the transfer portal last month. Now, it appears as though he will be taking his talents to Tuscaloosa for his final season of eligibility.
