Hornets release behind-the-scenes video of NBA draft selection process

Kon Knueppel was heavily featured in a documentary published by the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday, detailing their behind-the-scenes work surrounding the 2025 NBA draft.

The Hornets had a busy draft, selecting Knueppel with the fourth overall pick. They made a trade to acquire the draft rights to Liam McNeeley at No. 29 before taking Sion James and Ryan Kalkbrenner with the 33rd and 34th picks, respectively.

The 26-minute video gave an all-access look at Knueppel's predraft workout with the team and film session with coach Charles Lee. It also provided a glimpse into the Hornets' war room with the front office and subsequent selections of each player.

Knueppel led the Hornets to the NBA Summer League championship, averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals in five appearances. He was named MVP of the title game after scoring a team-high 21 points and five rebounds.

McNeeley averaged 18 points, 8.5 rebounds and four assists in two appearances, while James totaled 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists in two games. Kalkbrenner appeared in all six games, averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.

The Hornets are ushering in a new group of rookies and are excited about what each player brings to the roster. Following their impressive performance in the summer league, there is considerable excitement around the team heading into next season.
