In a new mailbag, NHL.com senior writer Dan Rosen answered some questions about the biggest rumors around the league. One was asked about the potential of Robertson getting traded.

"So, what's the likelihood he is traded? Cop-out answer, but probably 50/50 at this point because it really depends on if the Stars and Robertson can or even want to try to get a new deal done sooner rather than later. Robertson has one season remaining on his contract at an average annual value of $7.75 million against the NHL salary cap and can become a restricted free agent after this season," Rosen wrote.

If the Stars do make Robertson available, there will be multiple teams vying for his services. The Anaheim Ducks have been heavily linked to Robertson over the past few weeks, and they have the young prospects to make a deal worthwhile.

Anaheim needs more of a star to lead their team forward, while Dallas could use an infusion of youth. The two sides could be a perfect match to get a deal done if the Stars don't want to pay Robertson.

It remains to be seen if Robertson will be traded, but this story isn't going away until something conclusive happens between the two sides.
