Packers updates: Dontayvion Wicks practices again, Savion Williams returns
Some good news at WR: Dontayvion Wicks practiced for a second straight day, while Savion Williams returned after missing Thursday's session.
Friday brought some good news for the Green Bay Packers at the wide receiver position. Dontayvion Wicks practiced for the second straight day, while rookie Savion Williams returned to practice after missing Thursday's session with a new foot injury. First-round pick Matthew Golden was also able to practice for the second straight day after injuring his shoulder during last Sunday's loss.
Wicks has missed two straight games with a calf injury. While the third-year receiver has only 13 catches in six games this season, his likely return comes at a good time as the Packers transition on offense -- possibly to having more receivers on the field -- after losing dynamic tight end Tucker Kraft to a season-ending injury.
In this practice video from Bill Huber of SI.com, Wicks looked quick and explosive, likely signaling that he's ready to return for Monday night's showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Savion Williams is back.

The Packers can use Wicks on the perimeter and in the slot, and he's a potential big-play creator in space in the quick game and at the intermediate areas of the field -- where the offense must be more productive moving forward.
Williams, a third-round pick, might also be available come Monday night. While he hasn't established himself as a dynamic gadget or YAC weapon yet, Williams has the skillset to be a threat with the ball in his hands, and the Packers are going to need a player or two (or three) to step into the role of a tackle-breaking playmaker in the post-Kraft era of 2025.
Two players did not practice on Friday and are almost certainly out for Monday night: defensive end Lukas Van Ness and cornerback Nate Hobbs. Van Ness will likely miss his fourth straight game with a foot injury, while Hobbs' knee injury -- which could keep him out multiple games -- makes the Packers increasingly thin at corner.
The Packers will provide an updated injury report later on Friday.
