Steelers receive bad news on potential Chris Olave trade — Saints remain stubborn
The Black and Gold faithful may have received bad news about the Steelers' chances of trading for Saints wide receiver Chris Olave.

Sorry Steelers fans, trading for Chris Olave might be a long shot.
According to a report from Steelers beat writer Nick Farabaugh of PennLive, the Saints rebuffed Pittsburgh's attempt to inquire about Olave's availability, as New Orleans views him as having a pivotal role on offense in 2025.
Farabaugh also explained that the situation was merely a "due diligence call" from Pittsburgh, which happens quite frequently in the NFL.
Even if New Orleans were willing to play ball, so to speak, Farabaugh and Saints beat writer Ross Jackson agreed that the trade compensation would resemble that of the DK Metcalf deal — a second-round pick and a Day 3 selection.
Jackson argued that he doubts "Pittsburgh is looking to cough that up after the DK trade," while Farabaugh made an even more definitive statement on social media: "Saints ain't trading Olave."
Should Steelers fans give up on the Olave pipedream — and if so, who, if any, will join the roster to help alleviate the absence of Pickens on offense?
The Steelers traded a second and sixth for DK Metcalf. I doubt the #Saints would even entertain anything involving Olave for a less than a second (and still probably would be a long shot). I doubt Pittsburgh is looking to cough that up after the DK trade.— Ross Jackson (@RossJacksonNOLA) May 16, 2025
