After a standout performance from rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, the message he delivered in his postgame interview was unmistakable. Following the New Orleans Saints’ 24–20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Shough made it clear that while this season hasn’t gone the way the New Orleans Saints hoped, his confidence in the locker room has never wavered.
Shough spoke with a level of conviction, stressing that as long as he’s the one under center, his team will show up every week with the purpose to win. It was the tone of a quarterback who understands the importance of leadership and truly embraces it.
“I really care about what the guys in the locker room think of me, and my coaches,” Shough said, speaking to his role as a leader on this team. He followed that with a message aimed directly at the heart of a team still searching for momentum: “I want to instill that belief that we can win every single game, because we can.”

“I just love playing football, and this is why you do it,” Shough added -- a simple but telling statement from a quarterback beginning to find his voice on the NFL stage.
