Chargers schedule: Could Los Angeles open up 2025 season against AFC West rival?
A couple of reports suggest that the Los Angeles Chargers will play a tough opponent to open the 2025 regular season.
It was announced a few months ago that the Chargers would be opening the 2025 regular season across the country in Brazil. We will know who they will be facing for that international game, as well as the rest on Wednesday, May 14. But there may have been a leak of who Los Angeles' opponent will be.
According to Front Office Sports' Eric Fisher, the Bolts will be facing the Chiefs in Week 1.
"The league is closing in on an agreement to have the Google-owned YouTube, distributors of the residential version of NFL Sunday Ticket, carry the Sept. 5 game in Brazil involving the Chargers as the home team. The deal, according to sources, will see the opening-week game from São Paulo include the Chiefs, the NFL’s top viewership draw, as the visiting team," Fisher wrote.
If Kansas City is the team the Chargers will face in Sao Paulo, this would line up with The Athletic's report last month that indicated the Chiefs were the favorite to be the opponent.
From now until Wednesday, there will be a lot of schedule leaks on the internet. Some are accurate, but most of them are just speculations. We will update with any confirmed matchups, if any are released.
