Diego Pavia stats as Vanderbilt football QB leads Commodores over Tennessee

KNOXVILLE ― Diego Pavia got the job done in leading Vanderbilt football to a 45-24 win over Tennessee on Nov. 29 at Neyland Stadium.

The Commodores quarterback shined on both sides of the ball and accounted for two total touchdowns.

Pavia said before the season that Vanderbilt would "run Tennessee" and backed up his talk with production.

It remains to be seen whether Pavia will be a finalist for the Heisman trophy − voting doesn't open until next week.

Diego Pavia's stats for Vanderbilt vs Tennessee

Pavia went 18-for-28 passing for 268 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He rushed 20 times for 165 yards and one touchdown. He took four sacks for 35 yards.

Diego Pavia's best: Pavia runs for a touchdown

Pavia's ability to escape the pocket was on display with one of his best rushing games of the season. He ran for one touchdown, a 24-yarder where Pavia found the hole in the line then ran untouched into the end zone.

Diego Pavia's worst: Bad throws leads to interceptions

Pavia had two interceptions and both were bad throws. The first came in the first quarter and the second in the second quarter.

Grade: A

Pavia got the job done in leading Vanderbilt to its first 10-win season ever and its first win over Tennessee since 2018.
