MBB Live Thread: Mizzou looks to revive offense against Oklahoma
The Tigers welcome the Sooners to Columbia hoping to right the ship
First Half
- Shawn Phillips Jr. opens the game with a block, a second-chance layup and an and-one dunk with two hands. After Jayden Stone connects on a 3-pointer from the left wing, Mizzou leads 7-3 with 16:40 remaining in the first half.
- Nicholas Randall checks into the game for Phillips Jr. with 16:06 left.
- Mizzou leads 9-6 at the under-16 timeout. Phillips Jr. has been dominant. T.O. Barrett looks comfortable on both ends of the floor.
- Anthony Robinson II checks into the game for Barrett with 14:38 remaining. Trent Pierce also subs into the game.
- Mizzou leads 17-14 at the under-12 timeout. The Tigers are dominating the Sooners on the glass thus far with a 10-1 rebound advantage. Stone has glided through the lane for a couple of sweet buckets at the rim. Robinson II had a nice steal on defense and drew an offensive foul on an illegal screen, but he’s missed his first two shots (a contested fastbreak layup after the steal and an open 3-pointer that rattled out) and picked up an offensive foul of his own.
- Oklahoma leads 25-23 at the under-8 timeout. Before Barrett made a pair of layups off of dribble-drives, Mizzou had missed eight of nine shots. After missing their first three shots from the field, the Sooners have made eight of their last nine attempts.
- OU leads 33-32 at the under-4 timeout. Barrett has been fantastic so far, as he’s got nine points on 4-of-5 shooting, A steal and a layup got the Tigers out of a prolonged rut. Barrett, Stone and Mitchell have scored 28 of Mizzou’s 32 points so far.
