Shedeur Sanders Stuns in NFL Debut: Internet Erupts
The Browns pulled off a win over the Raiders on Sunday in the first-career start in the NFL for Shedeur Sanders.
It wasn't a great Sunday for those who are hoping that Shedeur Sanders fails in the NFL.
The brash rookie signal caller got his first-career NFL start for the Browns on Sunday in a clash with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he was able to do something that no other Browns rookie starting quarterback has done in the past 30 years – win their first game starting for the franchise. The Browns defeated the Raiders 24-10 on Sunday, and Sanders went 11-of-20 passing for 209 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the win. Sanders sounded off with his opinion on those doubting him after the win.
"A lot of people want to see me fail, and it ain't gonna happen," Sanders told the press after the win.

Of course, the NFL world has strong opinions about Sanders, and wherever he goes, heated discourse about him as an athlete and quarterback always seems to follow. And it was no different on Sunday following the Browns' victory, as the internet flooded with reactions to Shedeur winning his debut start.
Many of his supporters were glad to use the occasion as an "I told you so" moment, flaunting his success in front of anyone who had said a bad word about the former Colorado quarterback. Others were unhappy with how cocky he came off in his post-game quotes, while others were concerned that one win against the Raiders might not mean he's the perfect guy for the job. Of course, others are convinced of the opposite and are calling for him to start even once Dillon Gabriel returns from injury. Check out how the internet reacted to the win below.
52-yard pass from Shedeur Sanders while on the run… the Cleveland Browns haven’t seen a throw that far this entire season. pic.twitter.com/kfAX2YNFC5— GOWIE (@DaKidGowie) November 23, 2025

The praise needs to be JUST as loud as the hate was. Don’t start moving that goal post now that Shedeur Sanders is proving everything y’all swore he couldn’t do. Keep that same energy you had when you was talking crazy, breaking down every throw, every drive, every little mistake… pic.twitter.com/oeRGJFfyBw— NoChillWill (@CUBUFFS334) November 23, 2025
Took Shedeur Sanders one start and 20 pass attempts for his first 200 yard passing game. Dillon Gabriel has 6 starts and he’s only done it once where he threw the ball 53 times pic.twitter.com/yGoqg0B3sa— Transitioned Bears Fan 3/12/25 (@DraftDeskDavis) November 24, 2025

It’s took 17 games and shedeur sanders to score more than 20 points on offense! pic.twitter.com/SdOHmQGHNU— Chef Zae (@ChefZae23) November 23, 2025
Word of advice to Shedeur Sanders:
You have no business getting this cocky.
Celebrate the victory. But don’t act like you didn’t put up a 50% completion percentage against a team with 2 wins.
Don’t over-promise, because you’ll just under-deliver. pic.twitter.com/sOBbdLW41Z— All Rice (@thats_bb_suzyn) November 24, 2025
Shedeur Sanders should be the full time starter for the Cleveland Browns the rest of the season.— Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) November 24, 2025
Having Shedeur Sanders on the bench all season behind Dillon Gabriel is a fireable offense— dvrryl (@itsdvrryl) November 23, 2025
“Shedeur Sanders isn’t good! He’s only in the NFL because of his daddy. That’s why he went in the 5th round.”
