Texas A&M Softball's power surge continues in SEC Tournament with win over Gamecocks
Texas A&M underclassmen KK Dement and Mya Perez lead Aggies to run-rule win against Gamecocks to advance to the finals

No. 1 Texas A&M (44-9, 16-7 SEC) advances to the SEC Tournament Finals after run-ruling South Carolina (40-15, 13-11 SEC) on Friday night.
The Aggies dominated South Carolina in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, securing a 12-4 run-rule victory and advancing to the next round. The Aggies softball team started slow, allowing South Carolina to take an early 1-0 lead, but quickly found their rhythm. Kennedy Powell and Mya Perez each launched two-run homers in the second inning, giving A&M a 4-1 advantage.
South Carolina fought back with a two-run homer in the third and another run in the fourth, cutting the lead to 4-3. However, Texas A&M capitalized on Gamecock errors, extending their lead with key hits from Perez and freshman KK Dement. A solo home run in the fifth inning was the last run South Carolina managed before A&M exploded offensively.
Perez delivered a two-RBI single, followed by a Mac Barbara walk and an Amari Harper single, loading the bases. Dement then crushed a three-run double, putting Texas A&M softball on the brink of victory. The game ended when senior Kramer Eschete hit a grounder that was misplayed, allowing Dement to score, sealing the run-rule win. With this dominant SEC Tournament performance, Texas A&M softball advances to the Finals.
Texas A&M will face No. 5 Texas in the SEC tournament final on Friday at 6:00 pm. CT. The game will be available to watch on ESPN2.
