While the Los Angeles Lakers bounced back from a poor Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves to win Game 2, 94-85, they still have lots of work to do in this first-round playoff series. For one thing, they had their home-court advantage stolen in that Game 1 loss, and they will have to win at least one of the next two games at Target Center to reclaim it.

Offensively, they haven't exactly played well so far. They scored a decent 58 points in the first half of Game 2, but their offense ground to a halt afterward and only yielded 13 points in the fourth quarter. For the game, they shot a mediocre 45.3% from the field and a dismal 20.7% from 3-point range.

Los Angeles did do a better job of attacking the paint on Tuesday, however. It is something Luka Doncic pointed out afterward while saying it needs to continue.

“I think when we touch the paint, it’s a lot of openings,” Doncic said. “Like I said, we gotta do that more and I think we shared the ball great today. We gotta keep doing that.”

In Game 1, the Lakers shot just 39.8% overall, and their 15 assists were indicative of a lack of ball movement and shot-making. They notched 23 assists in Game 2, and they also did a better job on the boards while preventing the Timberwolves from getting out in transition.

After he scored 37 points in Game 1, Doncic put up 31 points and nearly achieved a triple-double with 12 rebounds and nine assists. He often found himself guarded by four-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert, a man he hit a game-winning 3-pointer over in last year's Western Conference Finals, and he seemed to relish the opportunity to take Gobert to school.
