Is Woody Marks going to play this week? The Texans running back aggravated an ankle injury during Week 15. Here's the latest injury update.
As the NFL calendar inches closer to the postseason, the Houston Texans are rounding into form on offense.
Houston scored on their first four drives on offense against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 and built a 23-7 lead by halftime. The Texans eased into the second half for a 40-20 victory, which solidifies them further in the AFC playoff picture.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud is playing well behind an improving offensive line but he can't do it all. Rookie running back Woody Marks has come on strong down the stretch for the Texans' offense.
Marks had at least 50 rushing yards in five of his last seven games ahead of Week 15. He exited the Cardinals game multiple times after a strong first quarter and ultimately ended the game with seven carries for 30 yards and a touchdown on a fumbled snap.
With Marks out, the team relied on Jawhar Jordan to lead the way on the ground. He delivered with 101 yards on 15 carries, the bulk coming on a 50-yard run in the third quarter.
Jordan played well but Marks has been the Texans' top back this season. When will he be back in the lineup? Here's what we know.
Woody Marks injury update
Marks could be back in the lineup for the Texans' Week 16 game against the Las Vegas Raiders at home.
Houston coach DeMeco Ryans says he could've gone back into the game against the Cardinals but was kept on the sidelines as a precaution.
"He got his ankle tweaked a little bit there early in the game," Ryans said per KPRC-TV's Aaron Wilson. "For where he was, felt like Jawhar and Dare [Ogunbowale] were doing a good job, so wanted to keep rolling with those guys and make sure Woody is good as we continue to go into the week.”

The rookie Marks has been the team's top running back this year with Joe Mixon out with injury. Here's a closer look at all of his numbers so far this year:

Marks is second on the team in touchdowns from scrimmage with five, behind only Nico Collins, who has seven. Marks has just six starts this season but holds the edge in production over veterans Nick Chubb and Ogunbowale.

Chubb missed Week 15 against Arizona with a rib injury. The Texans haven't released an injury report for Week 16 yet so his status is up in the air ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Jordan could be next up to backup Marks this week with Ogunbowale providing depth once again.
